Sony
SRW-5800 HDCAM SR vtr rental; 4K, 2K and HD transfers. This is the
newest model offered by Sony for the mastering of 4:4:4 color
space HDCAM SR tapes. See our Sony SRW-5500 rental notes for
feature set comparison. This is the best quality HD video format
to use to master your RED originated project.
HDCAM SR mastering:
in additon to broadcast HD fomats, this vtr allows data recording
of 2K and up to 4K full aperture (4096 by 3112) images. Also the
16 dighital audio tracks of the SR format allow a single master
tape to have multipleaudio mixes. Transfer your HDCAM or DVCPro
HD edited tapes and you can lay back 5.1 surround sound and still
haveroom for stereo with mix and effects tracks, and other
languages.
The SRW-5800 model is unique among the SRW edit vtrs in that it
has 880 Mbs recording which supports Dual Stream (3D) 1080 modes
as well as the ability to record at 1080/60p and and play
1080/60p tapes recorded by the SRW-1 field recorder allowing the
conversion of the True 60p to 24p for very smooth slow motion.

RED is an amazing new camera that starts with a Super 35mm sized
4K CMOS sensor and delivers 4K, 2K or HD images in a RAW format.
Several feature films, numerous commercials and some music videos
havealready been shot with this camera. With the newest software

Sony XDCAM EX3

Barely six months after the EX1 was shippingSony is now shipping
the EX3! The Sony PMW-EX3 camera has all the same specs as the
EX1, but also has genlock and the ability to slave time code for
multi-camera shoots. The EX3 also has an interchangeable lens
mount using a 1/2" B4 type adapter. Call for pricing and

Sony XDCAM EX1
camera rental $250per day. These new cameras are amazing too . The Sony
PMW-EX1 cameras record 1920x1080 on SxS flash cards, the
performance of this camera totally blows away the Panasonic
HVX200 with P2 cards for about the same cost. (3) 1/2" CMOS
imagers give a more filmic shallower depth of field than the
smaller 1/3 CCDs on the HVX200.
Sony XDCAM EX rental pricing will start at $ 250 per day for a
camera and built in 14x lens and (1) 8GB SxS card that easily
load into any newer PC or MacBook with the PCExpress card slot to
copy to Firewire drives. Plugins are ready for Final Cut Pro,
Avid, Adobe Premiere, Vegas 8 and other NLEs.

Sony HDW-F900R ...the same
performance as the F900/3 CineAlta camera, but lighter weight,
plus built in HDSDI, optional slow shutter, downconverter
...Color viewfinder available,
plus the length of the Sony F900R camera body is 20% shorter
compared to the previous model. The HDW-F900R is also extremely
lightweight - 2.6 kg (5.7 lbs) lighter than the F900/3. With the
viewfinder, battery, cassette, microphone, and a small zoom lens,
the total weight is only 5.4 kg (12 lb). 
Sony HDW-F900/3 ...an
industry standard for high quality broadcast and digital cinema
production,Sony F900 rental is now very affordable. Records to
HDCAM digital videotapes, Sony BCT-40 which last 50 minutes at
24p. With our Miranda DVC800 HDSDI adapters you can feed uncompressed
1920 x 1080 24p and 60i video with 4:2:2 sampling to an
outboard digital recorderand enjoy the security and redundancy of
a high quality HDCAM original videotape.
Capture with an AJA Kona 3 to a eSATA or UltraSCSI RAID for the
highest quality, or use the AJA iO HD unit to record with a
MacPro laptop and inexpensive Firewire drives using the Apple
ProRes 4:2:2 codec. You will be ready to edit on set! 
Compact Flash
recording for the Sony F900! Convergent Designs will soon be
shipping their Flash XDR™ onboard recorder. This small onboard device will allow better
than HDCAM recording for a daily rental cost of under $150 ! This
unit will record to two hot-swappable CompactFlash cards, which
then can be removied and copied to hard disks at 3x -6x real
time. The Flash XDR™ unit records full I-Frame only 100 Mb/s
MPEG2 4:2:2@HL
profile. This codec is
superior to HDCAM and DVCPro recording, either to tape or to the
older P2 card technology. Both Sony and Panasonic will debate the
fine points, but arguably the quality will be equal to the
AVC-Intra codec which is being promoted as equal to HD-D5
recording quality.
