Victory for Miranda July
Having already been honored at the latest Sundance Festival, the American director Miranda July won the Grand Prix in the 44th International Critics Week for her first feature Me and You and Everyone We Know. Founded in 1962 by the Syndicat Français de la Critique du Cinéma, Critic's Week showcases the work of young directors. This year, there were seven features and seven short films in the Critic's Week.

She also was a co-winner for the Camera d'Or Award (Golden Camera) for first-time director. "Me and You and Everyone We Know," Miranda July, (United States), and "The Forsaken Land," Vimukthi Jayasundara (Sri Lanka), which had been selected for Un Certain Regard, shared the award.
